Dear Parents and Players,

               The reason for this letter is to inform you about an exciting new AAU Basketball Program coming to Wilkes-Barre.  The team of Coach John Bucci & Jeff Fedak of Backcourt Hoops & NEPA Flames, have combined with Local Coaches to bring a well run dedicated basketball program to the Wilkes-Barre Area.  Rick Berry, who ran the NEPA Intimidators, has joined us as to bring this program about. Rick will be your contact to The Wilkes-Barre Express. We have leased the basketball courts in the CYC for our programs. We bring over 35 years of  AAU experience to this program.  We will bring our highly organized and refined systems to this program to make it a rewarding experience with the least amount of confusion.

            We would like to introduce you to our Travel AAU Program and invite you tryout our Wilkes-Barre Express AAU Travel Basketball Teams. AAU Basketball is the highest level available in age group basketball. Playing AAU basketball will give the player the experience and instruction necessary to play at the next level and move them beyond the players that don’t put in the time, effort, or gain the game experience needed to excel.
            Our mission is to provide the youth of the area the opportunity to learn and enjoy the game of basketball at a highly competitive level. We offer a program, which will develop and improve individual as well as team skills, and promote good sportsmanship, team spirit, and encourage team loyalty. We demands a high degree of ethical conduct by all its players and parents so that it provides a good example for the community, the opponents, and it's participants, thus helping player’s growth to adulthood. To try to accomplishing these goals, We will provide our players with additional exposure, training, and experience to the game of basketball at some of the highest levels available, thereby enhancing their opportunity to play at the junior high, high school, or college level.

            Each player will receive the following:

• A Seven tournament schedule, played on weekends throughout the spring
• A paid professional coach (coaches are paid for practice & hotel)
• Practices that emphasize teaching, instead of just learning plays.
• Uniforms
• Paid court time for practices with two practices a week to develop you skills.
• The chance to make yourself a better person and player.

Girls AAU age  16U If you are a High School eligible you are eligible to play as a 16U

• TRYOUT FEE OF $35.  THIS FEE IS NOT APPLICABLE TO ANY OTHER FEES YOU MAY OCCUR IF YOU MAKE THE TEAM.
• IF YOU MAKE THE TEAM:  Travel AAU team Costs
  If selected to a team. First payment of $250 will be due upon selection. Second payment Of  will be due in 30 days. This fee covers Tournament entries, AAU Fees, Uniforms, Insurance, Coaches travel, Coaches and Court Rentals Fees.  Per Tournament entry fees alone cost us $375-600 per team. . Please do not let the cost put you off, there are fundraising methods available to give your daughter the opportunity. Please Contact me. We look forward to seeing you at one of our tryouts. 10U -  16u   6 Tournaments and 2 one day Shootouts $450

Most Tournaments are 4 games

16U & 15U Girls National Teams
Tryouts will be The end of May cost $120 Includes 5 day College exposure Tournament at Penn State
Each Player Will Receive The Following at least 30 Hours Of Practice Time With A Paid Coach.
