JB Hoops Callejas suffers first loss

MANHEIM – Ohio Basketball used a suffocating man-to-man defense to hold JB Hoops Callejas to 12 points for more than 24 minutes Saturday on the way to a 51-22 victory in a 15U second-round championship bracket game of the Hoop Group Spring Jam at Spooky Nook Sports.

The loss knocked JB Hoops out of title contention.

Ohio Basketball took a 27-12 halftime lead, then held JB Hoops scoreless for the first 8:13 of the second half to expand the advantage to 29 points.

Zach Rovinsky, who did all his scoring in the first half, and Andrew Kozlofski, who did his in the second half, each had six points for JB Hoops.

JB Hoops Callejas had opened the tournament with a win Friday night.
