G.A.R. and JB Hoops graduate Seth Callahan recently wrapped up his first season at Susquehanna University by helping the River Hawks advance to the third round of the National Collegiate Interscholastic Athletic Association Division III men’s basketball tournament.
Callahan showed off his shooting prowess while averaging 5.2 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 29 games. He hit 45.2 percent from the floor, 48.8 percent from 3-point range and 85.0 percent from the line.
Susquehanna reached the Sweet 16 with wins over Medaille and Eastern Connecticut State before having its season end against Williams College. Callahan went 3-for-4 on 3s to score 9 points in 17 minutes of the 89-82 win over Medaille.
The 5-foot-11 guard scored more than 1,500 points at GAR where he helped the Grenadiers to a Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 title and a Class 3A state playoff berth as a senior.
Callahan spent one season at Division I New Jersey Institute of Technology where he scored 10 points in five games.
With Susquehanna, Callahan had a season-high 19 points Jan. 25 in an 89-83 road win over Catholic University. He was 5-for-7 on 3-pointers in the game.
