Strong effort helps JB Hoops Callahan to win

MANHEIM – JB Hoops Callahan used a 45-point first half to bounce back from its first loss in the Hoop Group Spring Jam at Spooky Nook Sports.

After going 1-1 with a late-night loss Friday, JB Hoops came right back out Saturday morning with a 62-46 victory over Chris Ward Basketball White in a 17U Platinum Division game.

“We were definitely shooting real well and our passes were on target,” said George Tinsley, an Abington Heights sophomore who scored 13 of his game-high 17 points in the first half. “We were hitting our passes and making a lot of jump shots, then we were getting to the rack and making our free throws, too.”

Seth Maxwell added 8 of his 12 in the first half.

Tinsley, Trey Koehler, Nate Kreitzer and Mario Rotell all had 3-pointers during the first half to open a 12-point lead, which grew as high as 20 late in the game.

“It really helps out after that loss,” Tinsley said. “That’s a 20-point win against a pretty good team.

“We just played well.”
