Gabby Giordano earned Colonial States Athletic Conference and ECAC South Region Rookie of the Year in her first season of college basketball in 2015-16.
She did not stop there.
Giordano, a Holy Cross graduate from Moscow, led Marywood University in several statistical categories during her sophomore season.
A graduate of the JB Hoops program, Giordano remains active at Backcourt Hoops, including coaching a Lady Storm fifth-and-sixth grade team this spring.
Giordano led Marywood in scoring (12.9 per game), assists (3.5), minutes played (32.1), defensive rebounds (6.1) and steals (1.1) while starting all 27 games in the 2016-17 season.
In addition to helping younger players as a coach of three teams in two sports, she continues to work on her own basketball game.
“Right now, I’m focusing a lot on my ballhandling,” Giordano said. “I feel like that’s something I definitely struggled with, not so much in the open court, but in making a move on someone.
“I want to be able to stop faster and pull up.”
