Seth Callahan got Susquehanna University off to a fast start Saturday in New Jersey.
Callahan never slowed down.
The GAR and JB Hoops alum set a school record by making 12 shots from 3-point range while scoring his collegiate career-high of 38 points and leading Susquehanna to a 90-72 Landmark Conference upset of Drew University.
Callahan had two 3-pointers in a 16-5 start by Susquehanna. By halftime, he had 23 points and the River Hawks had a 55-33 lead.
Drew battled back, but Callahan helped Susquehanna maintain control by draining four 3-pointers in less than three minutes midway through the second half.
The victory represents a 51-point turnaround from when Susquehanna lost at home in Selinsgrove against Drew, 98-65, just three weeks ago.
Callahan shot 80 percent from long distance in the game, going 12-for-15. He grabbed five rebounds and added an assist, steal and blocked shot.
After missing two games and coming off the bench in two more in January, Callahan returned to the starting lineup with a 26-point effort against Juniata College.
Susquehanna has won three straight to improve to 6-6 in the Landmark and 9-13 overall.
Drew is 9-3 and 16-7.
Callahan, a junior guard who played his freshman season at NCAA Division I New Jersey Institute of Technology, is averaging 13.4 points in 19 games. He is shooting 48.9 percent from the floor, 44.4 percent on 3-pointers and 90.6 percent from the line.
