Sirotnak found role as Moravian freshman

Julia Sirotnak earned regular playing time as a freshman on a successful Moravian University women’s basketball team.

The Scranton Prep and JB Hoops alum appeared in 25 of 26 games for the Greyhounds, who went 7-7 in the Landmark Conference and 17-9 overall.

Sirotnak averaged 3.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 0.4 assists. She shot 42.3 percent from the floor, 34.4 percent from 3-point range and 66.7 percent from the line.

The 5-foot-8 guard hit her season-high for scoring with 10 points in a Jan. 31 game against the University of Scranton. Two of her three highest-scoring efforts came against the Lady Royals.

Sirotnak played an average of 13.1 minutes per game.
