JB Hoops alum Bobby Casey leads Williams College back into the NCAA Division III men’s basketball tournament after earning first-team all-New England Small College Athletic Conference honors for the second straight season.
Casey, the school’s all-time leader in career 3-pointers and the NESCAC season leader in assists, is also the top scorer for the Ephs.
The senior guard from Scranton Prep averages 18.5 points and 4.4 assists. He has made 3-pointers 74 times this season and 265 times a career that has produced 1,450 points.
“Bobby has had a tremendous career and season,” Ephs head coach Kevin App said, according to a story on the school’s website. “To make NESCAC first team two years in a row is quite an accomplishment.
“This year specifically, he has really found a great balance of playmaking and shot-making for our group. His leadership is a major reason we’re still competing.”
Casey also averages 5.2 rebounds and shares the team steals lead with 1.0 per game. He is shooting 46.8 percent from the floor, 37.9 from 3-point range and 76.4 from the foul line.
Williams (20-6) received an at-large bid and a chance to host the first two rounds despite losing four of its last five games. Those losses were each by seven points or less and came while playing three other NCAA Tournament teams.
