Kreitzer headed to Misericordia

JB Hoops alum Nate Kreitzer, a senior guard at Nanticoke, made his college decision official Easter Sunday, announcing that he will head to Misericordia University to continue his academic and basketball careers.

“It was overall the best place for me,” said Kreitzer, who also strongy considered local Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom rivals Wilkes University and King’s College.

Kreitzer was a two-time Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 Player of the Year selection. He led Nanticoke to consecutive division 2 titles and to the second round of this year’s state tournament.

The all-time leading career 3-point shooter in school history led the Trojans to the second round of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class 4A state tournament this season as a senior. He was also selected first-team all-District 2 by

Kreitzer, a 5-foot-9 guard, was a third-team Class 4A all-state selection by state sports writers as a junior. He averaged more than 18 points per game this season, getting more than half his points on 3-pointers.

Kreitzer plans to major in business.
