Renny Murphy, a member of the JB Hoops Girls Regional team, is competing at the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Track and Field Championships.
The sophomore from Berwick is seeded 13th out of 29 competitors in the Class 3A javelin, which will be contested Saturday afternoon, late in the two-day meet at Shippensburg University.
Murphy qualified for the state meet while finishing second at the District 2 Championships May 16 at Scranton Memorial Stadium. Her throw of 125-10 meet the qualifying standard.
She is among the current and former JB Hoops players competing in Shippensburg. Others from the program showed off their athleticism during the District 2 Championships.
