Balanced effort leads latest romp

OXON HILL, Md. – JB Hoops Bucci made it through the second day of USJN 17U Girls Nationals with a 3-0 record by winning its two Sunday games at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center by a total of 57 points.

Rachael Rose went 3-for-4 to lead JB Hoops to a 50-percent effort from 3-point range during a 59-30 rout of Legacy Elite 17 from Kentucky in the latest game at the National Harbor.

Rose, a two-time, all-state guard from Scranton Prep, finished with 15 points, 3 assists and 3 steals.

Cecelia Collins, who did not miss a shot, and Lauren Charlton added 11 points each. Collins was 4-for-4, including a 3-pointer, and made both her free throws. Charlton hit 3-pointers in the first minute of each half and finished 3-for-6 from long range.

Mackenzie Steele made all three of her shots in the second half to finish with eight points, a team-high seven rebounds and a blocked shot.

Rose made all four of her shots in the second half to join Steele in leading JB Hoops to a 63.6-percent performance while outscoring Legacy, 34-15, in the half.

Charlton hit two 3-pointers and scored eight points ran out to a 13-0 lead.

JB Hoops defeated Carolina Waves 17 BSTT, 62-34, earlier Sunday.
