JB Hoops girls split on first day

The JB Hoops National girls team each split games to open their summer AAU schedule Saturday in the Blue Chip Invitational at Spooky Nook Sports in Manheim, Lancaster County.

Nya Johnson went 5-for-6 from the foul line in the second half when she scored 10 of her 15 points to lead JB Hoops Bucci to a 41-26 victory over K-Low Elite Gold.

Johnson and Lauren Charlton, who added nine points, each made two 3-pointers, hitting one in each half.

The Lady Runnin Rebels-11 from West Chester, Pa. defeated JB Hoops Bucci, 58-49, later Saturday.

Rachael Rose led the team with 14 points in the loss.

Lindsey Welsh made three 3-pointers in the second half and joined Charlton with nine points each.

JB Hoops Rose recovered from a loss in its opener to win its second game.

The Lady Runnin Rebels-10 topped JB Hoops Rose, 38-30.

JB Hoops Rose defeated the Connecticut Bandits, 55-41.

The second game win came when JB Hoops Rose overcame shooting 2-for-10 from the line in the second half and 3-for-13 for the game.

JB Hoops Bucci is competing in Pool A while JB Hoops Rose is in Pool H.

Both teams have three games remaining – two on Sunday and one on Monday.

The JB Hoops Bucci loss came to one of two 2-0 teams in Pool A. The team opens Sunday’s action against the other 1-1 team, playing Spooky Nook Lady Raiders Glover at 12:40 p.m. It plays Ste-Foy Elite Gaboury, the other 2-0 team, at 3 p.m.

The schedule concludes Monday against York Thunder-2020 at 11:30 a.m.

There is just one 2-0 team in Pool H where JB Hoop Rose is one of four 1-1 squads in the six-team pool.

The remaining JB Hoops Rose schedule is: Sunday, 11:30 a.m. vs. Mid Penn Motion-2021; Sunday, 1:50 p.m. vs. Ste-Foy Elite Laroche; and Monday, 10:20 a.m. vs. Connecticut Northstars Dacosta.

Mid Penn Motion is the 2-0 team in the pool.
