Evan Maxwell is making double-doubles look routine.
The JB Hoops alum and former Backcourt Hoops instructor has finished in double figures in both points and rebounds in each of his past four games while playing professionally for Spisska Nova Ves in the Slovakia Extraliga.
Maxwell has scored in double figures in six of seven games, shaking off a scoreless effort in his second outing to average 15.9 points and 9.3 rebounds.
Despite Maxwell’s efforts, Spisska Nova Ves is winless through seven games.
Maxwell was the game’s leading scorer and the team’s leading rebounder in each of the last two games.
The 6-foot-10 forward/center had 22 points and 10 rebounds in a 96-77 loss to BC Prievidza Saturday. Maxwell was 8-for-11 from the floor, making his only 3-point attempt, while hitting all five free throw attempts.
Maxwell had 23 points and 10 rebounds during a 79-78 loss to BKM Lucenec Oct. 26 when he went 7-for-11 from the floor and 9-for-10 from the line.
Maxwell scored 17 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds Oct. 23 in a 72-66 loss to Levice. He shared the team scoring lead and led in rebounds with 18 and 10 during a 96-74 loss to BK Svit four days earlier.
The Abington Heights graduate spent two seasons each at Baptist University, an NCAA Division I team, and at Indiana Wesleyan, where he won an NAIA Division II national title as a junior.
