Rose first PNC Bank Player of Game

SCRANTON – Scranton Prep junior point guard Rachael Rose was the first player this season to be named PNC Bank Player of the Game on an NEPABasketball.com Internet radio broadcast.

Rose was selected after scoring 20 points, making 5 steals and dishing out 4 assists when Scranton Prep routed visiting Berwick, 49-22, in a rematch of a District 2 Class 4A girls basketball semifinal from last season.

The JB Hoops AAU player was ready for the start of the season.

Rose hit her first four shots to score 10 points in the first 6:50.

By the time the two-time Class 4A all-state selection took her first rest 1:35 into the second quarter, she already had 15 points on 6-for-7 shooting.

Rose finished 7-for-10 from the floor, including 4-for-6 from 3-point range, and 2-for-2 from the line.
