JB Hoops alum Jackson Danzig scored a career-high 25 points Saturday to help the University of Scranton battle past visiting King’s College, 85-79, in a men’s basketball game between the local rivals.
Danzig helped the Royals win their fifth straight and improve to 9-2 on the season. He went 5-for-7 on 3-pointers and 9-for-12 total from the floor to surpass his previous high of 21 points against Elizabethtown Jan. 5, 2019.
Scranton plays its last non-conference game Wednesday at Arcadia before moving into Landmark Conference play.
Danzig, a sophomore from Abington Heights, is averaging 12.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists. He is shooting 42.6 percent from the floor, 35.3 percent on 3-pointers and 76.5 percent from the line.
Logan Bailey, a redshirt sophomore from Scranton Prep and another former JB Hoops player, starts along with Danzig. He averages 14.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists. He is shooting 60.4 percent from the field, 60.4 percent on 3s and 73.0 percent on foul shots.
