JB Hoops alum Leo O’Boyle made his first collegiate start Saturday and scored 12 points while helping Lafayette College defeat its Patriot League rival Lehigh University, 74-56.
O’Boyle, a 6-foot-7 freshman forward from Scranton Prep, was 3-for-6 from 3-point range and turned one of those 3-pointers into a four-point play. He also grabbed 5 rebounds and dished out 3 assists in 23 minutes.
Lafayette is 4-4 in the Patriot League and 12-7 overall.
O’Boyle has made an increasingly bigger impact with the Leopards over the last month. He has averaged 9.7 points and 3.1 rebounds while shooting 46.1 percent from 3-point range over the past seven games.
A week before his first start, O’Boyle went 5-for-6 from 3-point range while scoring 18 points in 19 minutes against Navy.
