Fermin receives offer from C. Connecticut St.

Central Connecticut State University is the latest National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I men’s basketball program to make a scholarship offer to NEPA Elite Coyle 17U forward Christian Fermin.

Fermin, who earlier received offers from Division I Hofstra and Division II Lincoln, helped the NEPA Elite 17U Coyle boys team go 2-0 Saturday at Get Live 2020 in Allentown.

The 6-foot-8 rising junior from Pocono Mountain West is the team leader in rebounds and blocked shots. He scored 20 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked 3 shots in Saturday’s 65-62 victory over the L&L Rebels.

Fermin was Pocono Mountain West’s top player as a sophomore, receiving honorable mention when the East Penn Conference selected its all-stars.

Central Connecticut State was 3-15 in the Northeast Conference and 4-27 overall during the 2019-20 season.

The NEPA Elite Coyle team is competing again this weekend, playing in The Origin, a Saturday and Sunday event at the United Sports Complex in Downingtown.
