2020-21 Travel Team

The 2020-21 AAU travel volleyball season is upon us. This is a competitive environment intended for players who have actively participated in club or on their high school teams in the past.  Tryouts for both boys and girls teams are Wednesday November 11th 6:45-8:45 and Sunday November 15th 5:30-7:30.  Cost for the tryout is $35. There is no guarantee players will make a roster.  Callbacks and the first practice will be Wednesday, November 18th 5:30-8:30

Registration fees for each player successfully making a team will be $650. This includes costs associated with a minimum of 4 but up to 6 tournament entries and practice time totaling over 65 hours of instruction.  Payment plans can be setup with the Riverfront office.


Teams will be based on registrations, and are open to age levels:

Girls: 14U, 16U, 17U, 18U

Boys: 16U, 18U

Winter Development League

Winter Development League is designed for younger or inexperienced players who have not yet played competitively and are still learning the game.  This will be a co-ed 12 week Sunday night league starting January 10th through March 28th with each session lasting 2 hours, starting at 5:30PM.  The first 4 weeks will introduce and improve skill development through practice sessions while the remaining 8 weeks will be 6 v 6 match play based on age level and ability.  Players in grades 5-12 are encouraged to attend.  Teams will be balanced evenly through determination of the coaches on site.  The cost is $425 and will include a team t-shirt.

Coach Chris Summa
Chris Summa has been Keystone College’s head volleyball coach since 2017. He brings more than a decade’s worth of volleyball experience including outstanding head coaching stints at nearby Marywood University and North Pocono High School.
Summa is also registered as a PIAA volleyball official and officiated the District II championship match in each of the past three years.  In 2016, he presented “Ball Handling Violations” at the PIAA Convention for volleyball officials. Summa has been active for the sport of volleyball in the media as well, serving as the lead color commentator for local televised matches on WNEP-TV, WQMY-TV and on NPF Sports internet radio.
